Regency Place of South Bend’s efforts are now receiving national recognition. Regency Place is a 2004 recipient of the American Health Care Association’s Quality Award.
There are 16,000 nursing homes in the country. Regency Place is one of 108 long-term care facilities in 36 states and one of only three facilities in Indiana that earned the Quality Award this year.
The AHCA Quality Award is designed to support continuous quality improvement efforts by promoting quality awareness and education and by recognizing quality achievements. Award recipients are chosen for making quality a priority in order to better serve their customers, their staff, and their communities.
The program also fosters networking among participating facilities by enabling them to share winning strategies and to communicate best practices. AHCA Quality Award applicants are evaluated based on criteria adopted from the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
A ceremony for award recipients was conducted in October at the National AHCA Convention.
